Objectives

- Have professional and ethical values (internalized the principles of non-harmfulness-usefulness, autonomy/respect for the individual, family and society, justice and equality, privacy and confidentiality)
- Adapting to change and development, (Adopting lifelong learning, following scientific and technological developments in the field, being aware of globalization and its consequences, giving importance to personal development, following legislation, national and international current developments)
- To be able to access and use evidence, (To be able to access databases, search professional literature, read research critically, use research results, develop research skills in a team, plan a basic research and produce evidence)

Purposes
For the Department of Midwifery;
- To make vocational education laboratories suitable for the purpose of education
- To publish a midwifery journal
- To ensure that physical conditions are improved in a way to increase the quality of education
- Increasing the number of teaching staff in accordance with the purpose
- To increase the recognition and professional effectiveness of the midwifery department
For Academic Staff;
- Sending faculty members through exchange programs
- To increase the international scientific studies of faculty members

- To be able to ensure the preparation and execution of pregnancy preparation education and parenting and childbirth preparation programs in the pre-pregnancy period in sexual and reproductive health services,
- To be able to diagnose pregnancy and perform the necessary examinations; to be able to monitor and care for the mother and fetus before birth,
- Care for the mother at the time of delivery; monitor the fetus and identify deviations from normal,
- To be present in normal labor and support the woman and to be able to perform episiotomy when necessary,
- Able to perform breech delivery in emergencies,
- Identify abnormal conditions in the mother and newborn,
- Able to manually remove the placenta and perform uterine control when necessary,
- To be able to care and monitor the newborn; to care and monitor the mother in the postpartum period, to refer in risky situations,
- To be able to care for pathological cases in the field of gynecology and obstetrics,
- Participating in family planning practices,
- To train midwives who can initiate care of internal and surgical problems in pregnancy
